ASHTAVAKRA SAMHITA
महाशय: The man of tranquillity असमाघः owing to
the absence of Samadhi for want of distrac-
tion मुमुक्षु: aspirant for liberation न not इतरः the
reverse and not (af is all) af figment
( इति this ) निश्चित्य knowing for certain पश्यन् seeing
(fчeven: he) Brahman gas lives.
28. Being beyond Samâdhi and dis-
traction, the man¹ of tranquillity is
neither an aspirant for liberation nor the
reverse. Having ascertained the universe
to be a figment, even though he sees it, he
exists as Brahman Itself.

2 Neither etc.-Because the desire for liberation
and consequently the attempt to gain Samâdhi no
longer exist with the dawn of Self-knowledge.
