This is a Devanagari transcript of the original manuscript
from Adyar. The original ms is thus described by the
librarian: "Palmyra leaves. Foll 82. 142 " by 11". Old,
worm-eaten and injured. Good medium grantha writing.
Lines 5 in a page. Inked. Wooden board at either end.
Complete." The colophon reads इति श्रीवीरनारायणसकलविद्या-
विशारद श्रीकोमदीन्द्रसुतवेमभूपालविरचिता शृङ्गारदीपिका नाम अमरुक-
कविविरचितशतश्लोकीटीका संपूर्णा ॥

The manuscript is fairly correct. A notable feature of the
manuscript is the dropping of the expression इति संबन्धः in
the commentary on most of the stanzas although that has
been mentioned very prominently as an important
component of his commentary by Vema अवतारोऽथ
संबन्धोऽभिप्राय भावलक्षणम् । etc. Another characteristic is that
the commentary avoids the set pedestrian method of
explaining a compound expression; and it simply gives a
paraphrase of it e. g. instead of एकत्रासनसङ्गते एकं च तदासनं
एकासनं तत्र संगते मीलिते निषण्णे इत्यर्थः, it has एकत्रैव आसनेन संगते
मीलिते निषण्ण इत्यर्थः ; instead of प्राणेशप्रणयापराधसमये प्राणेश्वरस्य
प्रियतमस्य प्रणयापराधः प्रणयेन प्रेम्णा कृतोऽपराधः अनिष्टाचरणं तस्य
समये काले it has प्रियस्य प्रेमकृतानिष्टाचरणकाले ; instead of चारि-
भरालसाम्बुदरोद्दिनेन वारिणो जलस्य भरो भारस्तेनालसः मन्थरः
स चासावम्बुदश्च तस्य रवो गर्जितं तेन उद्विग्नः त्रस्तः तेन, it has उदक-
भरमन्थर जलदगर्जितभीतेन and so on. It has on that account
attained some brevity not found in other mss.
